ISABELLA ROSSELLINI - DESIGNER HISTORY
Isabella Rossellini was born in Rome, Italy on June 18, 1952 under the name Isabella Fiorella Elettra Giovanna Rossellini. She’s the daughter of famous Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman and Italian film director Roberto Rossellini. Isabella Rossellini has been an actress, author, filmmaker, fashion model and philanthropist. She was also the face of Lancôme cosmetics for 14 years.
At age 13, Isabella was diagnosed with scoliosis and underwent 18 painful months of surgeries and therapies to overcome it. At age 19, she moved to New York to study at Finch College. Her career in modeling started when she turned 28 when her photos started showing up in such publications as Vogue, Marie Claire, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle and Vanity Fair. In 1982, she became the face of Lancôme and in 1990, she got involved in the company’s product development department specifically for the fragrance, Trésor. In 1995, she started on her own line of cosmetics and fragrances along with the Coty Group, calling her line, Isabella Rossellini’s Manifesto.
Isabella Rossellini has enjoyed a long and varied career in film and television, starring in such movies as Blue Velvet, White Nights, Death Becomes Her, Immortal Beloved and in television roles on the shows Alias, 30 Rock and more.
