FRENCH CONNECTION – DESIGNER HISTORY

The French Connection design house was founded in 1969 in London by Stephen Marks, but the label wasn’t officially introduced until three years later. In 1976, French Connection launched its first menswear collection and in 1978, the company hired Nicole Farhi as its principal designer and in 1983, released a label bearing her name. In 1997, the company started to brand their clothing line "fcuk," which drew much controversy and attention to the brand.

In the late 1990s and into the 2000s, French Connection expanded its product line to include lifestyle products, most notably, French Connection perfumes and colognes. Today, French Connection is still headquartered out of London, but they operate 50 stores within the United States.

French Connection Perfume and French Connection Cologne

In 2003, French Connection launched their signature line of French Connection perfume and cologne. Based on their lifestyle brand, both French Connection perfume and French Connection cologne shared the same name, that of their infamous trademark, fcuk.
