ALFRED SUNG DESIGNER HISTORY
Alfred Sung is a designer and fragrance creator. Born in Shanghai in 1948, the Hong Kong-raised Sung studied at the Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and at Parsons School of Design. His first shop, "Moon" opened in 1976 in Toronto.
The Alfred Sung label was launched in 1981, bringing his fashions to stores throughout the United States including Nordstrom's, Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue and Bergdorf Goodman. It was during this time that the designer began to garner international acclaim for his ready-to-wear designs and in 1983 Canada's MacLean magazine named Alfred Sung as Canada's "King of Fashion."
Alfred Sung product lines have expanded beyond his ready-to-wear collection and now include fragrance, bridal, jewelry, men's clothing, accessories and eyewear.
